In November 2018 my wife and I travelled through the south of Thailand with our backpack. At that time I accompanied our trip only with my GoPro Session 4. After the trip it was clear to me that it could not go on like this.

Back in Switzerland I started looking for a "beginner's camera". I found the Nikon 1 J5 mirrorless camera.

Afterwards, the first attempts in manual mode followed, I watched several hours of YouTube videos, bought a tripod, a different lens, etc.

In the summer of 2019 I will be able to buy a Nikon D5200 DSLR camera.

Also here it did not take long until further lenses and other accessories were bought.

The "learning" by means of so-called tutorial I put aside, much more I try to plan specific excursions, find interesting motives and to pull the trigger in a considered way.

My passion is beside landscape and travel photography the taking of long time exposures. Waterfalls as well as focusing on landscapes under the starry sky are among my favorite motives.
